Microsoft has added sports-related ESPN content on its Xbox Live service. Xbox 360 owners will now be able to access videos and other ESPN content as downloads via Xbox Live.
According to agency reports, Xbox 360 owners will be able to buy commercial-free standard-definition version of select NCAA games that will cost $3, while the high-definition versions cost $4.50.
All this content will be available for download on Xbox LIVE just 48 hours of the respective game’s conclusion. ESPN is also considering ways to incorporate the Xbox LIVE online gaming community into its telecasts.
All of the programming also is available for download on Apple’s iTunes. A small portion of the video, including NCAA games, will be available to download in high definition via Xbox Live, which is the only digital download service with high-def content.
