50 Internet Marketing Tools

This is an off topic to our website. However i am writing it as i think, it will be useful to all our visitors who are reading daily news about online companies, on our website. This article talks about various interenet marketing tools that should be used to promote your website / blog or business. Most of them are mandatory and can give you millions of dollars if done successfully. This is a very exhaustive list and i hope to cover all of them and keep adding as i come across new ones. I am not a web guru nor i am doing this for any promotion. I have a 3 years online experience with deep research in new marketing methods, niche websites and web promotions. So i guess, i have gained enough knowledge to write it down so that even i can read it when i make a new website. So here we go,

1. Make a website with small or large no pages. It does not guarantee top positions even if you have a very large website. All it matters is the type of keywords you are targeting and the kind of your article, website layout etc.

2. If you have a small website, you are more of ease and can handle it easily. Lets say you have a small website. Do the internal linking properly. It is not necessary to give link to all pages from every page. The best strategy is to keep the no of links down. Link only the related pages. For Example - Skin care category pages have a menu of only pages inside your skin care folder and so on. It is not necessary to link to Body care folder from the left menu. Your Top Menu should give a link to all your categories.

3. Have a site map. If you do not know how to make it, make it using Sitemap Generator. If you want to mak it yourself, make it using the following method - http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php . Once you are done, link to your site map from your footer and also submit it to Google at www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ . By doing so you are telling Google about your pages and it is 99% guarantee that all those pages will get indexed. By listing your sitemap on your website, you are helping other search engines to crawl your website properly

4. Have a nice presentation. Now it does not means that you have a nice website presentation. Presentation should be such that it attracts visitor to checkout more pages and re visit your website. Your web page should ask for user feedback/ comment and your web page should show at the end of the article - Related articles / random articles / articles in blog/ recent topics from forums or your testimonials. This way you are creating an interest in the reader.

5. Ofcourse you want to make money, so place Google ads in such positions that it does not give an appearance of totally an ad site. They should be placed nicely. Best Google Adsense positions are right menu, 300 x 250 in text ads, at the bottom or at the top. If you are selling products, place them nicely related to the page.

6. Your website url should contain the keywords of your article. Do not make dynamic created urls like index.php/124254?353 etc

7. Make a good Title of your web pages. it is very important part of your website. Do not over look this. Your title should not be stuffed with keywords and commas. Make a sentence. - The best remedy for Arthritis. This title is for keyword - arthritis remedy. So it is more attracting them Arthritis Remedy, Arthritis Remedies, Arthritis Treatment. Only list 1-2 keywords in your title.

8. If you have a small website, you can make Meta Tags and a nice description. Do not stuff your keywords.

9. Interlink to your pages through keywords within the article. Google loves this.

10. Highlight important keywords. Make your Titles and Sub Headings in h1, h2 tags. This tell google about the importance of this title with the page.

11. So now we are done with the website. Now Make a Blog using Wordpress in your domain. Update it regulary and give links to your web pages from that. Wordpress articles get indexed and rank quickly. So they would give emphasis on your main web pages. I will also make one of the articles for an ideal wordpress website.Now in 11 steps we are done with everything, so lets start promoting. I remember i haven’t talked about big websites

12. Submit your website to atleast 10 web directories of which start from Google, Yahoo, MSN. Then use some free online tools to submit your website for the 1st day. Search in Google - Free Directory submission. Do not go for any paid service.

13. Make a press release of your website and submit to the top sites. Search in Google - Submit press release. Again no need to pay for this. You cna submit for free to around top 10 press release sites.

14. Make 10 articles for your website based on your subject. Choose the topics that are most searched. Make nice articles with about to author telling about you and giving 2-3 links embeeded inkeywords. Submit these articles to ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, articlecity.com, articledashboard.com and 3-5 more article directories. These 2 steps helps you to index your site quickly and give you links for free. The plus point is you are getting links from your keywords. 10 directories manual submission is enough. So in 2-3 days you should be done with content creation and submisison.

15. Talk about your website in Social sites. Make a group, or add urls in your profile or write in your profile description, send an email to your group members or talk in social forums. Referring websites - Orkut, Myspace, FaceBook. You can really get some clicks to your site from this. Remember this is free, 1 time job and you get clicks for always in return.

16. Keep updating your social groups and forums and build a strong community. Make friends and comment on others website/ profile. Participate in Forums on Orkut groups, Facebook to be an active member liked by others.

17. Write your website url in your visiting card and share with others. This is another effective way. Suppose you have a health related website and you have given your visiting card to your friend. 90% chances are that he is suffering from any health issue or has a concern, so he would check your website. From here onwards things would give difficult for you and you will realise how difficult it is to make money.

18. Make an account in HealthReadings.com, Hubpages.com, Squidoo.com, LiveJournal. If you are not familiar with these websites, open them and have a look at what other people have been doing here. These are community websites and are highly weighted in Google algo. Make an account in them and start submitting some fresh content articles. Don’t do too much of linking to your websites from here. Make a good account and let others add you as a friend and get addicted to what you write. This way they might become your fan and refer your article/ website to others. Why i have mentioned www.HealthReadings.com? Healthreadings.com is only a health related website where you can submit your articles (remember they only accept unpublished articles) and only 1 link is allowed in the footer. The best thing is that you not only get a link/fame from an article but you also add your revenue. They place your google ads in your article and this way you add up your revenue. If an article on their website gets ranked, it would be the same thing as your website article gets ranked, as google ad revenue will be the same. So i guess it is good for us. No hassels and lifetime income and link. You may also create a blog in it

19. Talk about your website in Forums. For Example ask members about your website, the layout, colours, the kind of articles, new seo techniques and with signature at the end. The best place for this is - www.forums.digitalpoint.com, www.forums.seochat.com. You will not only get free links but others will give some nice suggestions for your website.

20. Do some linking for your website. You may ask some related nice websites to do some reciprocal linking or 3 way linking. There is no need to outsource this work or 100s of links. Google does not gives any such weightage and consider them as spam.

21. Make an account at www.digg.com, www.reditt.com, www.stumbleupon.com, www.del.icio.us . These are bookmarking websites. Rmember do not try to spam these websites with your links and your website pages. You have to think for long term. So make good communities here as well. Make friends / groups. Comment on other people’s website and bookmarks. You can bookmark 1-2 of your webpages, new blog submissions, your healthreadings, squidoo or hub pages . Remember if you keep submitting same sites or link, you will loose importance. Also submit other nice topics you come across.

22. Answer people’s questions on www.answers.yahoo.com. Make it a habit of answering 1-2 questions a day.

23. Advertise your website / products in free classified websites on net. Search Google - Free Classifieds.

24. Submit your blog to directories. Search Google - Submit Blog. Don’t use any software for this. You will have to manually submit to around 20-30 blog directories.

25. Ping your blog once in 4-5 days at www.pingomatic.com . Ths tell websites that you have got a fresh content.

26. If possible, make a new wordpress blog and submit free content in it. Link to your main website from footer , right menu or from within the keywords. This would give your website high weightage and external link.

27. Make an account at www.Technorati.com and claim your new blog. Place a banner on your new blog, asking people to add it to Technorati favorites.

28. Make a nice 404 error page for your website redirecting people to your home page.

29. Add Social Bookmarking Tools - Digg, Reditt, Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Yahoo and Google Bookmarks at the end of article of your website or a blog. If you do not know the code, you may easily add free service from AddtoBookmarks.

30. Participate in blog discussions. Answer or Ask quetions through Comment form in others blog. Link only from your name. If you have given a nice comment, chances are that people would visit your website.

31. Have a tell-a-friend form on your site. Some people still use it.

32. If possible, offer a free newsletter service and email your members every week with what’s new on your site or user question and answers.

33. You may also provide some free e books on sign up or free report to your visitors. This further attracts them.
34. Subit video to Youtube, Metacafe. In Metacafe you can put a link to your website as well. Add a slide about your website in between the video or after the video

35. Add a website signature in your email. So your website will go to every person you correspond with.

36. For making a website, always try to use catchy names which attract people and are easy to remember. Don’t use names which are difficul to write or spell

37. Use Google Ads, Yahoo Ads to promote your poducts. You may use some low keywords with 0.05 CPC to get clicks to your website. This adds your traffic as well as linking

38. This may be costly, but you can advertise on the leading websites to get a huge amount of traffic

39. Submit your RSS feeds of your website blog and the new blog i had told to various directories. Also give a link to RSS from your website or blog

40. Hold some contests on your website or polls to increase your visits.

41. You may offers ome gifts to visitors for contest or some kind of survey. Go for any kind of viral marketing that adds value.

42. If you are selling Products, start an affiliate program to get hundreds of free links and sales

43. Joint Venture or Partner with other websites / companies to get more visitors

44. Create a product or software with resell rights ang put a link at your botoom to go along with the software.

45. Sometimes talk about some websites or controversial articles can get lot of attraction and traffic through bookmark websites.

46. Submit both your blogs to blog contests to get ratings and comments.

47. Participate in Forums related to your category and be an active member. You can also act as an Expert in some Q & A websites.

48. Put a sticket on your car / office table / give away free Tees / Mug in some contest with your website printed

49. Nowadays, many more bookmarking sites have come up. Search them by your country name. Example - United States Bookmark your website, India Bookmark your website. They do often add up traffic. I have tested this.

50. Plan for a new website. HAHAHA. You may be wondering why? A new website with little traffic would help you to add traffic and revenue in future. You cannot understand this unless you do it.
